Dawn Girtman, CEO of Florally Yours–located in Gainesville, Florida– is a New York native and a mother of three and grandmother of twelve. She started as a floral designer in her early career, but discovered balloon artistry in the late 1990’s after seeing a design combining balloons and flowers. Dawn was captivated by the beautiful innovative designs that integrated balloons with flowers—a concept she had never imagined before.
In the early years, learning was challenging in the industry. Without YouTube and Amazon, aspiring artists had to invest significant time and money traveling to conventions to learn from industry experts. In 2004, Dawn received her Certified Balloon Artist (CBA) certification.
She became involved with FLOAT balloon convention in 2017, as a bonus instructor teaching floral classes. Since then, Dawn is now a regular staff member and continues to teach– contributing to the growth and education of the forever evolving balloon industry.
Even though she didn’t have a college degree, in 2023, Dawn launched her BBFY Academy and began offering classes in Gainesville, Florida, and Atlanta. Dawn services her community and surrounding areas with fabric, floral, and balloon decorating services. She loves teaching the foundation of the balloon business and inspiring the next generation of balloon artists.
